GPIB-PMC-XL
The GPIB-PMC-XL is a PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) GPIB controller card that converts any CPU card with PMC slots into a GPIB controller.It performs all the basic IEEE-488.1 functions such as talker, listener and system controller. The IEEE-488.2 compatible functions make it fully compliant with the IEEE-488.2 specification. In controller applications, you can control typically up to 15 devices (instruments). If operated as a talker/listener (device) interface it does exchange data and state information with the current controller-in-charge of the GPIB bus. The GPIB-PMC-XL lets Windows and Linux programs control GPIB devices.The flat ribbon cable has a standard GPIB jack on one end and a receptacle to be plugged into the GPIB card on the other end. The test system cluster architecture is based on dual CPU or 4-CPU PCs acting as cluster nodes. The nodes communicate and synchronise over a high-speed network (Myrinet or InfiniBand). A modification of the Linux operating system allows to run the test execution and evaluation algorithms in hard real-time on reserved CPUs, where scheduling is non-preemptive and controlled by the test system itself. The interrupts caused by interfaces to the system under test may be relayed to CPUs designated explicitly for their handling. This approach offers the opportunity to utilise high-performance standard hardware and the services provided by the widely accepted Linux operating system in combination with all mechanisms required for hard real-time computing. The cluster architecture presents an opportunity to distribute interfaces with high data throughput on different nodes, so that PCI bus overload can be avoided. In addition, the CPU load can be balanced by allocating test data generators, environment simulations and checkers for the behaviour of the system under test ("test oracles") on dedicated CPUs.

The powerful display allows users to group the devices in a simple device tree, Device/Port/Type, or Bus/Device/Function numbers. All register field descriptions are displayed by selecting the individual fields. Each register value in a single PCIe component's register can be read and if writable can be modified. The user can decode and change each bit value of any register on the fly using the built-in the PCIe specification display referenced for all registers. The extended register for M-PCIe is also decoded and displayed for devices supporting that specification. The PCIe/NVMe configuration space info on one system can be saved and later compared to a different system by loading a saved configuration onto a second system. Searching is available for locating PCIe devices. Other features include Auto Scan, Configuration Space View, Specification decoding for standard registers. The utility supports scanning on host machines using Microsoft Windows 7, 8, 10 and on Linux systems.
